POW, MIA Recognition Day in Nevada observed on Sept. 15

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- On Friday, Governor Steve Sisolak proclaimed the day as War and Missing in Action Recognition Day across the state of Nevada.

A ceremony took place at Nellis Air Force Base to honor the fallen military men and women.

Governor Steve Sisolak proclaimed Sept. 15, 2022, as War and Missing in Action Recognition Day across the state of Nevada.

Nationally it's recognized on the third Friday in the month of September.

The keynote speaker was Marine Corps veteran and ex-Cold War POW Marvin Carter. The 57th Wing Vice Commander, Col. Conor Hiney, hosted the ceremony

At the ceremony, the names of each fallen and missing service member from Nevada.

Las Vegas police dog involved in car chase crash in good condition

LAS VEGAS (KLAS)-- The police dog involved in a head-on collision following a violent vehicle chase on Aug 11 has fully recovered, according to a tweet from Metro. Boris, a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois was inside a police vehicle when it was struck head-on by a man fleeing police. Boris was taken to a veterinary hospital following the accident, and police said he is recovering well. Las Vegas hosts Professional Pickleball Association final grand slam event

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Pickleball is one of the fastest-rising sports in the world and the top players are competing this week in Las Vegas. Ben Johns, the number two ranked player, no doubt feels the pressure as he is competing against other of the world's best pickleball ball players this week.
