Pedestrian in wheelchair killed after being hit by vehicle, Las Vegas police say

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A pedestrian in a wheelchair was hit and killed in a crash near Jones Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue on Monday morning, according to Las Vegas Metro police.

The crash was reported just before 11:20 a.m.

The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center for treatment, where they were later pronounced dead.

No other details have been released.

A bicyclist was also hit in a crash earlier Monday morning and was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.

Las Vegas police dog involved in car chase crash in good condition

LAS VEGAS (KLAS)-- The police dog involved in a head-on collision following a violent vehicle chase on Aug 11 has fully recovered, according to a tweet from Metro. Boris, a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois was inside a police vehicle when it was struck head-on by a man fleeing police. Boris was taken to a veterinary hospital following the accident, and police said he is recovering well.
