Police investigating shooting near Ft. Apache in SW valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Police temporarily closed part of Ft. Apache at Gomer in the far southwest valley as they investigate a shooting.

According to police, an unidentified person shot into a vehicle with four people inside. Police say none of the people were hit by the gunfire but two people were injured by flying glass.

The affected roads in the area have now been reopened.

Las Vegas police dog involved in car chase crash in good condition

LAS VEGAS (KLAS)-- The police dog involved in a head-on collision following a violent vehicle chase on Aug 11 has fully recovered, according to a tweet from Metro. Boris, a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois was inside a police vehicle when it was struck head-on by a man fleeing police. Boris was taken to a veterinary hospital following the accident, and police said he is recovering well.
